What we do

Create spaces for critical reflection on educational and creative practices in prison

We bring together people who have learned, created, or worked in prisons, foregrounding the voices and experiences of those who have been incarcerated. Organized around different themes, our workshops and our annual symposia create spaces for dialogue, analysis, and reflection on the ethical, political, and social dimensions of teaching and creating in prisons.

Courses and workshops in prisons

Workshops bring international students from the American University of Paris (AUP) to the Santé prison to read, write, reflect, and create with incarcerated people. Through horizontal and egalitarian teaching methods, we seek to foster mutual learning.

We also support and organize workshops and talks that are led or co-led by people who have experienced incarceration, with the aim of opening up spaces for dialogue with people who are currently incarcerated.

Training for teachers and other people who work in prisons

We offer training and workshops to people who are preparing to teach or work in prisons. These trainings are led or co-led by people who have experienced incarceration, and are grounded in horizontal and egalitarian pedagogies that foster mutual sharing of knowledge and skills among trainers and participants.
